Director of Music/Conductor wanted!

Hunstanton Concert Band is a small, thriving band of woodwind, brass and percussion players, performing in concerts, on bandstands and at fêtes throughout West Norfolk. In June, 2012 we performed at Sandringham House for the Queen’s Jubilee, and we have played on a number of occasions for the High Sheriff of Norfolk. In March, 2015 we played at the Justice Service in King's Lynn Minster.

Our Conductor for many years, Chris Gutteridge, has recently moved away from Norfolk and has therefore given up the baton and no longer conducts the Band. As we hope to resume playing soon, once the restrictions of COVID-19 are removed, we are looking for a new Director of Music/Conductor to join us just as soon as possible.

The Band currently has vacancies for Clarinet, French Horn, Bassoon, Baritone, Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba (Eb and Bb), and Percussion, and would also welcome enquiries from players of other instruments.

Players would need to be playing at about grade 3 to grade 5 standard or above, depending on the position in the band, and all ages are welcome. Young players in particular are encouraged. The band rehearses at the Union Church, Hunstanton every Friday evening, and will give a warm and friendly welcome to anyone who wants to come along to see how they get on.
